Discover products with AI search

Google Cloud Marketplace includes an AI-powered search experience to help you discover software packages, services, and AI agents for your specific business needs.

This document introduces the conversational AI search experience, how to interact with the AI assistant, and how to understand and refine your search results.

The conversational AI search experience

Unlike conventional keyword search, the AI-powered search experience lets you describe your goals, use cases, or technical problems using natural language. The system then identifies relevant products and provides a summarized explanation of how they meet your requirements.

You can access these features from the search bar on the Cloud Marketplace page in the Google Cloud console.

Search features

The AI-powered search experience includes several key features:

  • Instant Search: As you type, the search bar instantly displays autocomplete suggestions, relevant categories, and specific products or partners. You can select an instant match to navigate directly to it.
  • AI Overviews: When you run a standard search, an AI Overview summarizes how the marketplace inventory addresses your query. This includes a table of relevant products and providers, with a justification for why each product matches your intent.
  • AI Mode: For complex inquiries, you can engage in a conversation in AI Mode. Enter AI Mode by clicking the AI button in the search bar, or by clicking Dive Deep with AI Mode from an AI Overview. This dedicated interface lets you ask follow-up questions and refine your search iteratively.
  • Filters: You can refine your search results using the horizontal filters on the search page, such as Category, Type, Price, and Partner. Both the standard search results and AI Overviews respect your active filters.

Interact with the AI assistant

You can search by describing the problem you want to solve, the type of software you need, or the industry you operate in.

Examples of effective queries

For effective results, structure your queries to provide context about your use case or problem.

  • Use case-based: "I need a solution to help manage large-scale data migrations to Google Cloud."
  • Problem descriptions: "What products can help me secure my Kubernetes clusters against unauthorized access?"
  • Attribute-based: "Show me marketing analytics platforms that integrate with BigQuery."
  • AI Agents: "Find an AI agent for customer support in the financial industry."

Understand the search results

When you use AI Mode or view an AI Overview, the results include:

  • AI-generated summaries: An explanation of how the suggested products address your specific query.
  • In-conversation links: Direct links to the suggested products' details pages so you can view pricing and deployment options.

If the initial results don't exactly match your needs, you can refine your discovery process:

  • Ask follow-up questions: In AI Mode, you can ask questions to narrow down the results. For example, "Which of these are available as a SaaS product?" or "Show me options from specific partners."
  • Apply horizontal filters: Use the filters on the search page, such as Category, Type, Price, and Partner, to narrow down the results. AI Overviews and the standard search results respect your active filters.
