Update existing AI agent listings for enhanced discovery

If you have pre-existing AI agent listings on Google Cloud Marketplace, including Agent as a Service (AaaS) or Professional Services (ProServ), you must update your product details to include the new mandatory metadata fields.

Why update existing listings?

The new AI-powered search experience uses structured metadata, such as industry and business function, to present the most relevant products to customers. By backfilling this new metadata into your existing listings, you ensure your AI agents remain visible and competitive in the updated discovery process.

These updates improve visibility in AI Overviews, conversational AI Mode searches, and new search page filters.

Backfill metadata in Producer Portal

To update your existing AI agent listing with the new required metadata, complete the following steps:

  1. In Producer Portal, navigate to your existing AI agent product.
  2. On the Overview page, go to the Product details section and click Edit.
  3. On the Product info tab, you will find new fields for Industry and Business function.
  4. Select the industries and business functions that best describe your AI agent's capabilities and target audience. For more details on these fields, see AI agent listing requirements and metadata.
  5. Review your existing Category IDs to ensure they accurately reflect your AI agent in the updated Cloud Marketplace taxonomy. You can select up to two categories.
  6. Click Submit to send your updated product details for review.

Review and approval

Once you submit your updated product details, the Partner Engineering team will review the changes. This process typically takes two to five days.

During the review process, your existing listing remains active and available to customers. The new metadata will be integrated into the AI discovery engine once your updates are approved.
